  • Head Covering & Sun Protection: High-SPF sunscreen, UV-blocking sunglasses, and a fitted head cap or hat.
  • Warm Layering Clothing: A light jacket or windbreaker, as temperatures at the 2,000m summit are noticeably cooler.
  • Personal Medication: Motion sickness remedies for winding mountain roads alongside your daily health essentials.
  • Camera or Smartphone: Extra battery capacity or a power bank to capture panoramic canyon photos all day.

🚗 Traveling with Your Personal Vehicle

  • Your Name on the Registration: The vehicle must be registered in your own name.
  • Financed or Rental Cars: If the car is financed through a bank or is a rental vehicle, you’ll need an NOC (No Objection Certificate) to take it into Oman.
  • Borrowed Cars: Vehicles borrowed from friends or family are generally not allowed for crossing the Oman border.
  • Oman Car Insurance: If your existing insurance does not cover Oman, you can purchase temporary Oman car insurance at the border for around AED 100.

  • If you’re a UAE resident, your Emirates ID should also have at least 90 days validity before departure.
  • Hold more than one nationality? Bring all of your original passports with you, not just one.
  • We can only accept original documents at the border — photocopies or soft copies won’t be accepted, so don’t forget the physical copies.
  • If you’re on a sponsored visa, you’ll need to travel together with your sponsor.

The off-road 4×4 safari lasts approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. Standard daily departures are in the morning at 9:30 AM or in the afternoon at 1:30 PM, starting directly from Khasab.
